The fire dept. is looking to buy a new fire engine to replace the LaFrance.

The department was doing fire drills in the old Nelavanco house during 2001

There are some of the firemen who completed training in air mask and search and rescue during 2001.

The fire department took in in a new probationary member, Dan Ohler.

The Fire Dept is looking to recruit some new firemen, and they are also starting a Jr. firemen program.

They are also taking Associate firemen (firemen that belong to another fire dept. that when they are in the area they can go on calls).

The Christmas banquet was held in December and 2 awards were handed out for deceased members, Dr. Herbert Morrow and Thomas Bishop, accepted by Herb Morrow Jr. and Maryann Bishop, respectively.

GUN BASH - on October 20, 2002 at the firemen's club in New Alex. Tickets are $30 each and include free food/buffet-style and beverages. Dinner at 12:30 p.m., Guns given away and 50/50 raffles.
