PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

The year 2000 is considered, by Presbyterian Church (USA) as the "Year of the Child".  We are a people of prayer, and God uses our prayers.  We can pray for children - that we not misuse or abuse the gifts they are to the church and the world.  We can discover many ways we can make life healthier, happier, brighter and more promising for all children and youth.

It has been heartwarming to receive the "Thank You" cards from all those who received quilts this year from the Presbyterian Women.  The women would like to share a letter from Sally Aldridge. CLICK HERE to read the letter.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Faith in Action is one of the options offered to attendees of the Jubilee Gathering of Presbyterian Women at Louisville, July 15-19, 2000.  There is a hands-on volunteer work opportunity each afternoon.   Registrations for the Gathering are now being taken.  See MaryAnn Bishop for details.  All sessions selected will certainly inspire and challenge you.
  • The Presbyterian Women Synod Mission project for 2000 is Habitat for Humanity.  Our 1999 Synod project was Sudan, the Presbyterian Women donated $807.00 to the project.
  • Every three years Church-wide Presbyterian Women organizes and conducts a "Global Exchange" --sending a group of women to another part of the twirled to listen, learn, explore and bring back all they experienced.  Participants traveled this year to the Middle East to listen to the life and faith stories of our sisters and brothers as they explored the issues of children at risk, justice for women, and other belief systems.  Countries visited included:  Jordan; Egypt; Syria; Lebanon; Israel/Palestine.

These monthly tidbits give us more insight to the workings
    of the Presbyterian Women worldwide.
    Thank you Anna Jean Carnahan!
