| Dear Friends at Community
U.P. Church,
Thank You so much for the 5 beautiful quilts you shared with us. There are so
pretty and well made - truly a treasure to those who have received them.
The 2 baby
quilts that were alike are not covering a set of twin boys whose parents have worked their
way off welfare and are trying to make ti on their own. It takes a lot of support to
stay off welfare. I can assure you those quilts were a real boost to that family.
The third baby quilt, we are holding for a woman (single mom) who will deliver her
baby in March.
One of the full
size quilts went to an elderly woman who is a shut-in and lives way back in a hollow.
When we gave her the quilt, she cried and said she didn't think anybody would
remember her.
The other
full-size quilt went to a married couple who got some bad news before Christmas.
Leeanne and diagnosed with breast cancer and Jack with colon cancer. We assured this
couple (as we did all the others) that these quilts came stitched with lots of
prayer. We asked them to remember that as they lay beneath the quilt to remember
they were covered by God's love and your prayers.
Thank you for
touching the lives of so many here.
May our hearts
continue to be open to all our brothers and sisters throughout this Jubilee year.
Sincerely,
Sister Sara Aldridge |
